Gathering Genie Circles
Most of our spaces at work, education, communities and in personal lives are designed for people who talk FIRST, who talk FAST and who task LOUD. Others who may be quieter, who may take more time to think, who just may be more patient - are left to the margins and their own agency to make their voice heard. Along with my dear friend Tulika, we have started hosting peer learning circles inviting fellow gathering genies - people who may not see themselves as facilitators per se but are constantly wondering how to sprinkle more magic in the spaces where people gather.
We have had two wonderful circles so far. Here is a flashback of one of the circles.
Peer Learning Circle Series
I believe in the power of facilitation to nurture connected selves, groups and communities. I believe that a space held with love and energy can open the door for healing, learning and inspiration for meaningful action. I invite you to a monthly series that has been in my heart and mind for a long time. Every month we take up a theme that we explore together as a group - we share our glad/mad/sad experiences and help each other with tips, ideas, inspiration and sometimes just some encouragement and support!
Peer Learning Circle 3 - Strategy in Action, 23rd June, 5:30-7 pm (Online)
The third peer circle opened the space for a dialogue on "STRATEGY IN ACTION" - What do groups that "live" their strategy look, sound, feel like? What enables or prevents groups from taking pauses to reflect and realign their day to day work? What practices can help groups become "strategy focused organisations"?
Peer Learning Circle 2 - Lived Purpose & Values, 28th April, 4-5:30 pm
The second one in the series was on "LIVED PURPOSE & VALUES" - where we together explored - what are visible manifestations in a group that actively "lives" its purpose and values - internally & externally? what enables or prevents groups from seeing their inner lives as a driver of the change/ impact they seek to bring in the world?
Peer Learning Circle 1 - Meeting Culture, 24th March, 4-5:30 pm
The first in the series was one of my favourite topics - "meeting culture"! We spend so much of our time in groups in meetings and it is an amazing window into a group's culture. Let us unpack our experiences of "meetings" in our groups and discover how the "visible" (space, practices, behaviours) and the "invisible" (purpose, vision, values) can support creating & sustaining a meeting culture that we want! We had an engaging participation with 15 folks across a diversity of groups and across four time zones. Access the notes of this circle here and add your comments!
